The Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden by Karina Yan Glaser

Thanks to #kidlitexchange for sharing the review copy of this book. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden by Karina Yan Glaser. Returning to Harlem with these crazy kids is wonderful. This time they are sneaking around to a vacant lot next to the church to plant a secret garden for their neighbors who’s had an incident. Sad thing, creating a garden with no money and no skills is nearly impossible and they are racing against the clock and real estate developer who wants to build a condo right on that very spot. The adventures these kids go on continue to amaze me. The Collector by K. R. Alexander

Thank you to #kidlitexchange for sharing the review copy of this book. All opinions are my own. The Collector by K. R. Alexander. OMG!!!!!!!!! There aren’t enough stars in the scoring system to do this one justice!!!!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This middle school read was the creepiest, edge of your seat page turner I have read in years! Not scary, CREEPY. This book releases August 28, 2018 my advice is preorder it NOW! Josie leaves her home in Chicago after her mom loses her job and her Grandma has Alzheimer’s so the only sensible thing was for them all to live together. Josie and her sister Anna had three rules 1. Never leave the windows open after dark. 2. Never, Ever go by the house in the woods and 3. No dolls in the house. Seems simple enough. But in the country with no internet, no cable, and no neighbors life gets boring and rules are made to be broken. Children begin to go missing, Josie’s grandma is acting stranger than before and now her nightmares involve more than just herself and those woods. Princess Pulverizer: Grilled Cheeses and Dragons

Thanks to @kidlitexchange for the review copy of this book. All opinions are my own. Princess Pulverizer: Grilled Cheeses and Dragons by Nancy Krulik. This chapter book has cute illustrations and simple to read vocabulary. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Princess Serena doesn’t want to go to princess school to learn tea parties and dancing, she wants to go to Knight School to rescue damsels in distress and slay dragons. Her father refuses until the princess convinces him to strike a deal with her. Eight good deeds must be preformed and then he will let her go to Knight School. So she’s off but good deeds are not easy, she gets yelled at and forced to run and then trapped by an Ogre. Then the Ogre traps a knight and a dragon with smelly breath and things just get really complicated, but she has the Queen’s jewels she rescued for good deed #1. Now she must find a way out (with the dragon’s help) she is able to move on to find more good deeds to do and win her way to Knight School.
