There was another posted earlier on my feed check that out as well! “The values that built America still exist in small towns everywhere, but that doesn’t mean that small towns don’t suffer from the same plagues as big cities. There are just as many good people in the city as there are as many bad people in a small-town. The difference is people in a small-town cover the problem up better or shade the truth from others. Some of the best-kept secrets come from those small towns that aren’t even on a map.” Order now at

April TBR

April TBR! I am hoping April is a better reading month for me than March was. This remote learning with two children threw a wrench in my reading schedule and we are still learning to find a “new normal” around here. Hope everyone is staying safe and washing their hands! My goal is to read Dangerous Aliiance, You Are Not Alone, Kingdom of Back, Dread Nation, From Grouchy to Great, A Heart So Fierce and Broken, Small Great Things, and Truth Be Told. Have you read any of these?

March 2020 Wrap Up

March Reading Wrap-Up…..6 books. The Giver of Stars, Recursion, Uninvited, Five Presidents, The Rest of the Story, and The Night Country. I am currently reading Outlander only about 100 pages into it and You Are Not Alone hoping to finish them both soon. Did you get more or less reading done during this social distancing? I definitely read less. Too much going on at once!

The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes

I purchased this book from Amazon to read with my bookclub. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes. It took me a while to get into this story but once I was into it, the story moved quickly. The start of the WPA packhorse library in Eastern Kentucky built friendships with women who wouldn’t otherwise be friends and relationships with people you would never have expected. Alice, Izzy, Beth, Sophia, Katherine and Margery are tested over and over by the town of Baileyville (to several such places I wanted to throw the book) but above all else, they survive. Recursion by Blake Crouch

I purchased this book from @bookofthemonth to #buddyread with my bestie @mycornerforbooksand. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Recursion by Blake Crouch. This book!!!!! After reading Dark Matter I was so excited to read Recursion! A New York Cop, a Scientist who’s grant is running out connected by an evil man that is working on a personal goal. Once the memory chair is completed, all of them spend the next 144 years trying to undo it. What is time? Memories? A timeline? If you could relive your timeline would you change it? I don’t think I want to know. I don’t want to relive life even if I know what’s coming. The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dressen

I purchased this book from @bookofthemonth to #buddyread with my bestie @mycornerforbooksand. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen. Since Emma’s mom died she has lived a very sheltered life with her Dad and her Nana. Her Dad is remarrying and her life is beginning to start new this summer while her Dad is on his honeymoon, she is supposed to stay with her best friend. Tragedy happens and plans are rearranged and she has to stay with her mother’s family and while they all know who she is, she doesn’t remember any of them. Adjusting to family, new plans, and new friends has its ups and downs but Emma quickly learns how to fit in and maybe be part of a world she never knew. Reading this book was exciting knowing that even when the book ends the story never does. Five Presidents by Clint Hill

I purchased this book to read with my friend Laura. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five Presidents by Clint Hill with Lisa McCubbin. Clint Hill was a secret service agent appointed to White House detail. During his career he served 5 U S Presidents, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Gerald Ford. While each President has his own way of running the White House and each had their own hobbies and own unique personalities, Clint Hill was the person behind protecting them. Sometimes it was obvious he was there other times you wouldn’t know unless you looked for him. Some of the stories are very personal and some are very vivid, some seem tedious and some seem amazing once in a lifetime opportunities. The details of the behind the scenes for 5 different Presidents is amazingly told through his stories. What a great quick read with a glimpse into History! Blowin’ Smoke Sneak Peak

My book Blowin’ Smoke releases 4/20/2020 and everyone is asking questions, so I have decided every Thursday I will post one line from the book just to keep it interesting! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Dr. Tom Jeffers sorts through information he is given by other to understand how one person’s anxiety over another person’s addiction causes so much angst it cripples an entire family. “His addiction puts him in deadly situations that gives his family anxiety he probably never thinks about.” Order at

Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst

I purchased this book to #buddyread with my sister. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst. No one wants to feel overlooked or rejected. This book is a ten day bible study to overcome the two core fears that feed insecurity by understanding the secret of belonging. Rejection has a way of feeding into relationships even when it isn’t intended to be that way. Sometimes it’s more about how you feel than someone else left you out. Get past the enemy whispering in your ear and understand why you feel that way. Review also posted on Instagram @borenbooks, Library Thing, Twitter @jason_stacie, Facebook,, Amazon, and my blog at
