I purchased this book from a local thrift store to read. All opinions are my own. ππππ Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan. Anna Kerrigan has adored the sea since she was a child. Ever since her father took her to visit the man Dexter that had a house by the sea. Years later her Father has disappeared and Anna works at The Brooklyn Naval Yard where she becomes a female diver. One evening out with friends she runs into Dexter again and she knows he is the key to finding her Father. The moments she dives into after meeting with Dexter to find her father she learns will be the murkiest waters she has ever seen. The majority of the book is set in New York during WWII when the soldiers were considered heroes and the women of the world were still trying to find their voices. Licensed Vocational Nurse for Special Needs Pediatrics turned stay at home mom. I have enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. I will read anything from children's books, novels, short stories, and even instruction manuals! I am a true book nerd. View all posts by Stacie Boren
