An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

I purchased this book from Target to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 An American Marriage by Tayari Jones. I wanted to love this one, I had heard so many great things about it, but I felt it was a little predictable and a lot of clichΓ¨. I hated Celestial from the moment the story began. She was evil and I could feel it right away. Raised in Louisiana making a big move after college to Atlanta, getting married ready to start a family, Little Roy was making his parents proud and going places until he is accused and convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. What will happen to everything he has worked so hard for? How can he salvage anything he had while behind bars? A man struggling to hold on learns life changes and somethings are only salvageable with fresh eyes. Review also posted on Instagram @borenbooks, Library Thing, Go Read, Goodreads/StacieBoren, Amazon, Twitter @jason_stacie and my blog at
