I purchased this book from @bookofthemonth to read with @blackheartreads. All opinions are my own. πππππ The Broken Girls by Simone St. James Fioana is a struggling writer dating a cop. Fiona struggles with the death of her sister twenty years ago and being in a small town doesn’t help. Everyone knows but no one talks, the old you do me a favor and I will owe you one mentality. Until Fioana learns the old boarding school was purchased and being renovated and she decides she should be the one to cover the story. Only the story she sets out to write will be so many broken pieces of history that should have long ago been written. The story is creepy but not gory, wonderfully written how the past meets the present and the details everyone should have noticed but probably won’t until it’s all pulled together in the end.
